State biologists in Alaska state that colder temperatures may explain why king salmon are not returning. The biologists place nets along the mouth of the rivers to catch kings or summer chums. The Yukon river has been icy along with the Bering coast. The declining salmon numbers along the Yukon river has lead it to be declared a natural disaster with congress allocating $5 million in relief money for commercial fishermen. Lets just hope the salmon are fashionable late!
